Wine Racks
Wine Racks are very important to people who are serious about their
wines. A good wine rack should be very stable and keep the wines in
a horizontal position. There are wine racks that will hold a few bottles,
to some that will hold hundreds of bottles.
Wine should be stored in the horizontal position to ensure that the
wine inside the bottle is kept in contact with the cork. This ensures
that there is a good seal on the bottle. Wine racks can be made out
of a number of materials, but the most popular being made out of wood
or metal. Most traditional wine racks are designed to hold 75cl bottles
and Bollinger style champagne bottles.
If you have a cellar this is an excellent place to store wines
as they are out of natural sun light. You can get special wine racks
designed for cellar installation which can hold many hundreds of
wines in safety.
The ideal temperature to store wines is between 49 to 60F (10 to
16C) and wines should be held at a constant temperature all years
around.
Red wines should be stored at 55 to 60F and white wines at 49 to
56F
A good wine rack will help keep your wine in excellent condition
for many years and this combined with room temperature will ensure
your wine maintains its quality for consumption or to keep as an
investment.
